About the HUBZone Program
The Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) program, created by the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), provides federal contracting assistance for qualified small business concerns (SBC) located in historically underutilized business zones in an effort to increase employment opportunities, investment, and economic development in such areas. The Government sets a goal of awarding at least three percent of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. The government also gives preferential consideration to HUBZone businesses in full and open competition, as these businesses receive a 10 percent price evaluation preference in full and open contract competitions
